Allegations Against Staff Policy

If a parent or staff member has any concern about the behaviour of a member of nursery staff, this should be brought immediately to the notice of the manager or owner as appropriate in confidence.

Any such allegation will be taken extremely seriously, and advice will be sought from Kent County Council’s LADO (Local Authority Designated Officer) before any action is taken. As appropriate, we or they will conduct an immediate investigation. The local authority will decide what action to take and whether other agencies, such as the police, should be involved. Although no assumptions will be made regarding the truth of the allegations until the investigation has taken place, it may be appropriate to suspend the member of staff from duties pending the outcome but this is not always the case.

Any allegation must be notified to LADO (Local Authority Designated Officer), and also to OFSTED as a significant incident.
